Community development

Context

KPMG France Foundation supports the Association “Rights for Economic Initiatives Organisation(Adie)  by contributing to the “CréaJeunes” program.

Objectives

 

  • Support entrepreneurship in disadvantaged urban areas
  • Provide financial assistance to young entrepreneurs with the "KPMG Foundation ‘Coup de Coeur’ award”
  • Teach young entrepreneurs the know-how and professional skills of KPMG

APPROACH

The “CréaJeunes” programme of Adie is a personalized support programme for entrepreneurship aimed to young people, between 18 and 32 years old, located in disadvantaged urban areas. KPMG Volunteers KPMG give their time and expertise to:

 

  • participate in an evaluation jury for projects in the different CréaJeunes branches in France (17 cities)
  • select the winners of the "KPMG Foundation ‘Coup de Coeur’ Award”

 

The KPMG Foundation ‘Coup de Coeur’ Award rewards the most promising projects of the CreaJeunes Programme.

After a 6 week training programme, each future business leader presents its business plan in front of a jury composed of KPMG volunteers, Adie members and local representatives of banks, local authorities ... Projects are evaluated on various criteria including the candidate's motivation, the relevance of its offer, its differentiation in the market, and its sales forecast.

Each winner receives € 1500 to help start its business.

Prizes in 2013 were awarded to 17 young entrepreneurs in 17 regional branches of Adie.
