1. Organizational Governance

Strategy and organization

Context

Created in 1996 in Sallaumines (French Pas de Calais département [62]), Sealock is specialized in the formulation of water-based glues and Hot-Melt glues. Its products are intended for the sectors of Graphic Arts and POS advertising, Assembly and Industry, and Packaging and Labeling. Sealock puts innovation at the heart of its strategy to design ever-more efficient and planet-friendly products. Rooted in its territory, Sealock is committed to respecting and maintaining the highest levels of Social and Environmental Responsibility within all its processes.

Objectives

  • To integrate the CSR into the values of the company to ensure its long-term viability
  • To improve the well-being of employees
  • To involve the company on its territory of establishment

APPROACH

True culture of the company, respect for man and its environment is one of Sealock's priorities since its creation. This is why Sealock made the choice of participatory management: mutual exchanges between the manager and the employees, autonomous decision-making, meetings which all employees attend.

Since 2003, Sealock has implemented Management System of the Quality in which the Environment aspect was integrated in 2012 and the Social aspect in 2012. This system is based on the following framework:

·        The ISO 9001 standard for the Quality section

·        The ISO 14001 standard for the Environment section

·        The ISO 26000 standard for the Social section.

Soon, the Health & Safety aspect will be an integral part of the system: work on the OHSAS 18001 framework is in progress.

This Integrated Management System consists in respecting all requirements relating to all these frameworks. It is piloted by the Quality & Environment Management and its manager, and implemented by all Process Pilots (7 people: the Laboratory Manager, the Management Assistant, the Sales Assistant, the Sales Manager, the Production Manager, the Storekeeper, the Quality & Environment Manager).

In 2009, Sealock formalized its policy and objectives. The general policy of the company was cosigned by all process pilots. This policy presents the current objectives of the company on the four themes of Quality, Health & Safety, the Environment, and Social Responsibility. It was explained to the staff by the Management, displayed at the reception, and is part of the Integrated Manual.
