Working conditions

Context

Salti is a family-owned company created in 1950. It is one of the first companies to specialize in the leasing of equipment for construction and industry professionals. Salti's headoffice is located in Marcq-en-Baroeul. It now employs over 370 persons and is present throughout France with 30 agencies. From 2007, the 4th generation set in motion CSR and is leading all the employees to build its company development plan. Anchored with values, including respect for people, which is at the heart of the company, the company's strategy integrates CSR within a logic that can be summed up as: "happy employee, delighted customer".

Objectives

APPROACH

Welcoming and integrating new employees:

  • Welcome plan for newcomers and position changes
  • Training at headoffice to have a better grasp of the stakes and of the tasks performed by all categories of workers
  • Assignment of a tutor (on the same hierarchy level)
  • Handing over a complete welcome booklet (with SALTI values, internal rules, etc.)

→ A feedback is done in the month following the arrival of the employee, and then, two months after hiring, a "Fresh Eyes" report.

 

Development of expertise and know-how through training:

SALTI develops personalised support and thinks that training is a vital tool for prevention and a way of preserving employee's employability.

Objective and content of the training plan:

  • Check out the various needs of all departments in the company
  • Taking into account the employee's request expressed during annual interviews
  • Taking into account the needs for skills development and making them evolve

 

Favour well-being at work:

  • Employees have the possibility of organising twice a year a dinner to create bonds within the teams (in spring - barbecues- or on Saint Eloi Day for instance)
  • Emphasis on sports: sports event are organised on a regular basis (Route du Louvre, Raid HEI, Challenge du Héron) to enable employees to do sport in a friendly environment
  • A "Well Being" week is organised in autumn, and focuses on health, nutrition, sport
  • The "Muscular waking-up" is an opportunity for every one to warm up in a funny way and to create a friendly atmosphere from the first hour of the day.

  • Customer satisfaction rate: on the rise, with 87% satisfied

  • Close relationships with employees

  • 5% reduction in turnover (in 3 years)

  • 10% increase in staff (in 3 years)
