Context

Founded in 1857 in Bondues, Billards Toulet manufactures and renovates billiard tables. In 2008, the company needed to innovate: the billard market had evolved. Employee Marc-Alain Deledalle decided to buy the company and modernize its product range. He also adopted new production practices to relaunch the activity. The installation of a wood boiler in 2011, followed by the launch of an eco-designed billiard table, marked the development of a CSR approach at the company.

APPROACH

The installation of the wood boiler was originally part of a sustainable development initiative proposed by employees. Some 70% of the fuel it burns is made of recycled wood briquettes, and the remaining 30% from wood scraps and pallets. The boiler heats the big show-room, which has a surface area of 600m².

Optimization of the industrial process and modernization of the dust removal system were initiated with the participation of CARSAT, to offer optimal working conditions for employees.

To raise awareness among the personnel about the reduction of wastes, a sorting bin was placed at each workstation, under the responsibility of a person.

The company also decided to construct its first eco-designed billiard table in 2013.
