Context

Eaux du Nord accompanies the Lille region in the development of water services. With its commitment towards its customers, it educates the young and old on the sustainable management of water and preservation of the environment.

Objectives

Information and awareness are the best ways to promote the collective responsibility of water. Eaux du Nord is committed to developing in partnership with schools, local authorities and associations, awareness on water with youth and other audiences.

APPROACH

Throughout the year, a person in charge of the education division, specialized in environmental education, works with elementary schools, associations, social centers, and the children’s city council(CME).

These educational sessions are structured around interdisciplinary workshops, meetings with professionals of the water industry or site visits (treatment plant, educational farm, educational courses)

Eaux du Nord also helps the Eco-School project on the theme of water with the completion of a “water” diagnostic and a program tailored to the fields of action desired by teachers. Educational tools are developed: signs representing the natural and domestic water cycles, educational booklet, water carafe for children.

Water bars are also held at public events to raise awareness about the use of tap water and eco actions.
