Community development

Context

As a global player in yeasts and fermentation, Lesaffre designs, manufactures and markets innovative solutions for Baking, Food taste & pleasure, Health Care and Biotechnology.
Family group in northern France in 1853, now a multi-national and a multicultural company, Lesaffre employs 8 300 people. Every year, Lesaffre Chile’s employees volunteer together for a local association.

Objectives

  •  To motivate employees, enabling them to fulfil their potential both at work and personally speaking
  •  Reinforce motivation and engagement to improve productivity
  •  Help a local association through volunteering.

APPROACH

Thanks to Lesaffre’s employee’s efforts, the first action of RENACER (reborn in Spanish) took place in 2005.

Since its establishment, various associations have been supported which: improves infrastructures, embellish the environment, provide educational and recreational school supplies when appropriate or improve local communities’ standards of living. Thus, various structures have already benefited this project such as kindergartens or camps in periphery for disabled or disadvantaged people.

In 2014, Lesaffre team has helped three families who had suffered significant damage after a house fire. It took the team two months to plan actions and a week to complete the painting, planting, repairing fences and roofs.
Beyond those achievements made annually RENACER has become a real need for employees. Indeed, once an action is completed, the next is already sketching out of the horizon.
