ENERGIC sets up an Environmental Challenge in its company

1. Organizational Governance

Strategy and organization

Context

Today, only 15% of employees are involved in their company's CSR strategy. Yet 70% of them want to be more involved!

Giving everyone the desire and the means to take action for the ecological transition of their company is the mission that Energic has set itself since its creation in 2016 by Alexis Delepoulle and Quentin Oustelandt.  Based in Lille (Bazaar St So), the company now has 12 employees and supports more than 150 companies, 300 schools and 10 local authorities throughout France.

Objectives

  • Raising employees awareness of all environmental issues in a fun and positive way (mobility, digital, food, energy, biodiversity, waste, solidarity, climate commitment...)
  • Help employees to concretely reduce their carbon footprint and promote their individual and collective actions in support of their company's ecological transition.

APPROACH

"It is through play that we learn and through awareness that we act! "

Gamification put at the service of ecology is a powerful lever for positive action. Energic runs eco-challenges in companies, deployed on a mobile application.

During the challenge, employees, divided into teams, are invited to take up challenges for the climate. At a rate of 2 minutes per day, they will be able to progress at their own pace on all environmental issues. Many challenges are proposed to them: realization of their individual carbon footprint, training via educational contents, adoption of eco-gestures, realization of individual and collective missions and proposal of impactful ideas for the company!

To facilitate the deployment of the challenge internally, communication kits are made available to project leaders. An Energic community coordinator is then dedicated to monitoring the players and ensuring that the Challenge runs smoothly.

A closing ceremony is organized at the end of the challenge to review the highlights and key figures of the challenge and to award trophies to the winners. On this occasion, for each player registered, Energic commits to donate 1 euro to an environmental and/or social association.

In 2021, nearly 10,000 euros were donated to various local associations that work to preserve the environment.

CONTRIBUTION TO COMPANY PERFORMANCE

  • Training employees about environmental issues
  • Reduction of the company's carbon footprint
  • Collaborative CSR policy; in fact the company is setting up a suggestion box, for example.
  • Positive impact on the employer brand, with a reduction in turnover and positive external communication

Benefits

  • Since the beginning of the Energic adventure and thanks to the actions of the 30,000 players, the challenge has prevented the release of 7,000 teq of CO2; which represents about 1,000 round-the-world flight.
  • In 2021, 10,000 euros have been donated to various local associations that act to preserve the environment.
